Students have the edge in interacting effectively in both foreign and domestic markets and a solid base to be able to perform managerial responsibilities with confidence.
Students (individuals or teams) can help with:
- Planning: Define your organization’s long term and short term strategic plans and organizational goals.
- Organization and Administration: Establish structure to your global business and its employees and create a productive work environment.
- Leading: Motivate and train employees as well as assign responsibilities and delegate authority.
- Problem Solving: Maintain an ethical work environment, developing approaches to problem-solving.
- Controlling: Evaluate employee, process, team and/or machine performance and the progress of the strategic plan.
Learners
Deliverables will vary depending on the scope of the internship requirements. To be decided with the industry partner and academic internship coordinator.

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor/Davenport University representative to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.
Student interviews are a recommended part of the program.
End evaluation. We would love to have honest feedback about the student's performance and professionalism. We will email you a form to complete.
Provide a dedicated contact who is available to answer periodic emails or phone calls over the duration of the project to address students' questions. Be available for a virtual mid-semester check-in about student progress.
Mentorship is required. Employers need to be trained/experienced in sport and event management and/or marketing, and willing to provide a safe and supportive learning environment.
