Project Examples

Requirements

Groups of senior Davenport students will collectively devote 300+ hours to determining the viability of your potential business venture and provide recommendations for moving forward. The feasibility analysis will include:

  • Market Analysis: the current state of industry and market, market trends, industry and market potential, competitor analysis, ease of market entry, potential customer segments, sales projections and other revenue sources
  • Technical and Logistical Analysis: how your business will deliver the product or service, location, materials, equipment and technology needed, labor, transportation
  • Organization and Structural Analysis: legal requirements such as incorporation, patents, trademarks etc, organizational chart and relevant personnel/founders background and experience
  • Financial Analysis: start-up capital, sources of finance, income statement & cash flow projections and potential returns on investment
  • Conclusions and Recommendations

Project examples can include, but are not limited to:

  • Expansion strategy
  • New market entry
  • Launching a new product or service
  • Reinventing an existing product or service

Additional company criteria

Companies must answer the following questions to submit a match request to this experience:

Be available for a quick phone call with the instructor to initiate your relationship and confirm your scope is an appropriate fit for the course.

Sign the Davenport University Experiential Learning Course-Based Project Agreement.

Be available to meet virtually or by phone with student team leader on a minimum of 3 occasions.

Provide responses to students' progress reports and other communication within 3 business days.

Evaluate the student's written report and presentation using rubrics provided by the instructor.

Complete the Davenport University client evaluation form at the end of the course.
